LUX - game projection in urban space

A joyful videogame with impressive generative realtime visuals, projected in public space, open-for-all and free-to-play.

LUX turns urban space into a unique contemporary playground. We projected an easy-to-play video game onto the facade of the Literaturhaus in Stuttgart, Germany. The game design is based on the architecture with the inner theme reflecting the different sectors of the building. Open to the public, anyone crossing the place could see the game in action and play it for free.

The combination of projection mapping and a video game reflecting the meaning of the building creates a one-of-a-kind experience.

Passers-by were impressed by the interactivity and impressive visual shape of LUX. It takes you on an immersive journey which makes you forget about your surroundings.

contrasting the coldest und most depressing time of year, we wanted to suprise the people with something really joyful and colorful. but colorizing the city doesn't mean to do it only in a visual way. it means to raise new ideas and to bring them to life.

in lux, ideas and thougts come from a brain inside of the building to its front windows - kind of coming from your subconsciousness to your consciousness. the player controls the character "lux" and has to hit the ideas in order to bring them to life. the more ideas were hit, the more colorful the city gets.
