HTTP (Network Get)

Help gets data from given urls on the web
Author vvvv group

Here you are supposed to see an image (rendered with SVG) describing the pins of this node. However, this does not work with Internet Explorer. You may want to consider using another browser, like FireFox, Chrome, Safari or Opera that do support SVG.

about HTTP (Network Get)

The HTTP (Network Get) Node requests data using the HTTP GET-method.

The URL-Pin tells the node where to get the data, this pin is spreadable, this means that it is possible to request several ressources from different locations at the same time. If you change the URL in one slice, the ressource the new URL points to, is instantly loaded.

The pins Name and Value form name-value-pairs that will be attached to the requested URLs as (optional) parameters. If you assign values to these pins the resulting URL will look like this:
http://www.meso.net?password=123

Of course such a URL could also be entered directly. Both pins are spreadable but all name-value-pairs are send to every URL you request.

The Username and Password pins are required if you want to access htaccess-protected websites. Those sites need authentification and you need to provide the correct credentials via these pins.

The pins Proxy and ProxyPort provide the possibility to send your request via a proxy server. A list of open proxyserver can be found here:http://www.stayinvisible.com

The Refresh Pin is used to reload a resource. This pin is also spreadable so it is possible to only refresh certain sources.

If you want to request SSL encrypted websites you have to install the Indy OpenSLL library which is not included with VVVV.

Download the zip file provided here:http://www.intelicom.si/www.nsf/docs/6GERPJGIBC?opendocument&cat=9&doc=6GERPJGIBC&lang=en And extract the files to vvvvs bin folder.

The Status pin spits out the HTTP-status codes returned by the webservers or other error messages.

For an overall list of possible HTTP-Status-Codes please refer to this sitehttp://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html#sec10.

The Header pin contains the HTTP-Headers returned by the web-servers. For more information on HTTP-Headers or HTTP in general
have a look at this website:http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616.html

OnFail and OnSuccess tell you wheter your request was successful or not. If so the OnSucces is set to 1 otherwise the Onfail pin.
