no, slimDX is not required, if it doesn't work. something else is wrong.. open the crack.exe, it will tell you.

@weareallclowns, you can always press Alt+R to show the root window and go from there.
lol, it wasn't showing the render in full screen, it was just the only window it showed me..
alt enter for the fullscreen on your screen!
