The Camera ( t4_ / taped trash tracking tool* ) is a selftaped physical device, fixed on the body of an 80's Polaroid Cam, combined with an Highres VideoCam, a laserpointer & display for the orientation and an FLOCK OF BIRDS (=a military! )motiontracker via an early vvvv patch (=programming! ) for analysing colors in front of the Cam, to transform the wireframes - synced to the given music of SOLVENT .. / as control the (=handmade! ) '3D VISUAL' in Realtime via the physical flight & each color of the cables ..

Upon invitation a concept for an exhibition for an entire room inside the Schlossmuseum Linz (Upper Austria) was created. A playful interactive installation invites the visitors to either dive into information-cloud of the recently merged federal databases or observing another layer of information from above.
Entering the room the visitor can choose to stay spectator on the gallery at six meters watching others interact with the floorfilling projection or to step down and use one of the four objects and associated touchscreen terminals to explore the vast geotagged and timelined information about each little township of Upper Austria.

Latest generative audiovisual experiment by Lanvideosource. Video patch extracts and compares words taken from three news websites (italian, european and global). Structure created interacts in real-time with audio frequencies and is partially sequenced. Video patch sends back triggers to audio section generating audio-video interaction feedbacks. Words extracted and decontextualized are constantly remixed in the patch, obtaining new meanings or creating a kind of subliminal messages. Everytime the patch is run, structures, camera movement or the news-of-the-day change, making it in part unpredictable.
Video is entirely made in VVVV. Patch is rendered off-line, no post cuts. Only motion blur is applied in post processing.
Audio is made in Reaktor5 and sequenced in cubase.
Little about process:
Patch is based on Lsystem and Curvesimple. Words are extracted in realtime by decoding rss feeds of news websites then the text is decomposed and separated according to words frequency.
The synthesized part of sound is created in Reaktor5. Audio samples are added in cubase. Midi tracks are recorded in Cubase, sent to VVVV (for sequencing and global synchronization) and played by Reaktor. Within VVVV, separated tracks containing individual audio layers are played. Three bands of frequency are analyzed then audio triggers control form, camera, light and other parameters..
VVVV modulates back by midi some parameters of audio as volume or position of sounds.
Sequencing was necessary for plaing and recording the patch not in real time. Frames recorded in HD format was then composed in a video file.
It's more simple than it seems.

music by Duke Ellington and John Coltrane - My Little Brown Book (1962)
i really love this music.
Some testing for an audiovisual concert:
Everything is generated in realtime using the input of two electronic instruments (saxophone:Akai EWI 4000s; keyboard: Akai MPK 49).
We just play the instruments, make music and also visual. delicious... :)

about the realization
audio - i generate midi within vvvv, ableton live plays the sound
video - fully generated within vvvv, according to the midi
everything works perfectly in realtime, 60fps
Entirely composed in VVVV and Native Reaktor5
