Berlin Patchers.

Our first meetup was a blast. See the protocol if you missed it.

Lets keep it up.
Here is the second one.

This time we will have lasal (seehttp://aristidesgarcia-blog.tumblr.com/) exposing some insights of his latest project. Hopefully this gets us inspired, so that we can have spontaneous discussions/talks/showcases following.

So, feel free to bring your project/notebook/questions or whatever you want to share with the community.

There will be a bar serving us drinks.
There will also be other people around as well.

Thanks go to Lieke and Alfredo who are running the fantastic spacehttps://spektrumberlin.de.
Thank you Lieke & Alfredo.

RSVP & more info here.

HBAO+

Berliners and non berliners.

We thought it's time for a first VVVV Meetup in Berlin, which will hopefully turn into a series of patcher kucha style evenings.

The meetup is for vvvv and VL interested open minds in Berlin. It is a place to meet and exchange ideas and experiences. It is open to anyone who wants to join, no matter if you are a vvvv expert or beginner, a famous or breadless artist, a designhead or technologist, a piano player or techno musician.

Thankfully we will be hosted by Lieke and Alfredo who are running the fantastic spacehttps://spektrumberlin.de. It's a nice exhibition, performance and community building space. There will be a bar serving us drinks and some people around. Thank you Lieke & Alfredo.

Next steps:

  1. Drop us a mail, comment or forum post if you like to show something. We will announce some line-up soon.
  2. If you like: make yourself a member of our brand new meetup group on meetup.comhttps://www.meetup.com/VVVV-Meetup-Berlin
  3. And check yourself in for the first meetuphttps://www.meetup.com/de-DE/VVVV-Meetup-Berlin/events/251273271

Looking forward to meet you!

Ann-Katrin & David

Update:

We are happy to announce our first talks:

  • dennis of NSYNK will introduce us to his great new contribution of an ambient occlusion algorithm for vvvv.
  • princemio, art director at Waltz Binaire, is joining us to present undocumented super secret stuff for your brains to explode.

Where Platform Theatre, Handyside St, N1C 4AA , United Kingdom

I am pleased to invite you to the opening of our new VR project Camouflage at Platform Theatre in London, on Friday 1 June.

Me and Andrej teamed up with former Rambert choreographers Renaud Wiser and Patricia Okenwa to create a world of mixed reality, illusion and power games in a unique celebration of dance, music and virtual reality.

The evening features Camouflage - our new mixed reality game which playfully explores the ways digital technologies enrich and/or suppress our senses. After an interactive VR experience, where the audience can be at the centre of the action, there will be also two new creations of live dance delicately crafted by Renaud and Patricia and performed by an extraordinary cast of international dance artists.

We hereby launch the first vvvv summer camp and we call it: LINK
Check out its website for all info.

It is all great and shiny with only one caveat: unfortunately the number of people we can host is limited to 25. This is why we have to run a simple application process and depending on the number of applicants we will have the difficult task to tell some of you that they cannot come. booohh..we know.

Please don't hesitate to apply though, we're hoping to assemble a group of not only the usual suspects but also to get to know some new faces!

Also if you cannot attend for the whole time, join us on the public sunday. More information on the website.

So, in a nutshell:

  • 5 days of patching in the sun on the shore of a quiet lake
  • we camp and cook and clean-up together
  • 130km north-west of berlin
  • 260€ with all food and drinks inclusive

Convinced? Then go and apply here directly.
Any questions? post@link-summercamp.de

Be quick: Application deadline may 22nd

Where At a peaceful lake near Berlin, somewhere near nowhere, Germany

The lake

Attention patchers! Save the date!

We're planning to spend some good times.
Save the date for LINK, the very first VVVV summer camp.

The summer camp will take place from August 8th to August 12th this year at a wonderful and peaceful sight near Berlin. The camp will be a short vacation from your everyday life, a time for ideas and projects you never found the time for.

You are willing to bring your ideas and developments and this communtiy further? Then this is the place for you!

Nota bene: There will be only a super limited amount of seats available. The summercamp is not like an academy or workshop. You are not coming to learn. Here you are coming to share and spend quality time together while bringing forward your developments and ideas for future developments.

Expect 5 fantastic days at the lake with tents, barbecue, wine and overheating notebooks.

So save that date now.
Details on everything and how to apply for it will follow soon here.

happy eastern

When Tue, May 1st 2018 - 10:00 until Fri, May 4th 2018 - 20:00
Where Pistoriho palác, Štefánikova 834/25, Bratislava, Slovakia

CCL is an internationally traveling format offering digital media ‘code savvy’ artists the opportunity to translate aspects of choreography and dance into digital form and apply choreographic thinking to their own practice. In a one week interdisciplinary peer-to-peer setting, the participants work on their own projects, share knowledge, find new collaboration partners, discuss ideas and challenges. Previous CCLs have been joined by digital artists, musicians, architects, physicists and dancers, all bringing along a variety of emerging new media tools and setups that can be experimented with and explored for new artistic ideas. Results from the week might range from prototypes for artworks to new plug-ins for working with dance related datasets (www.choreographiccoding.org). CCLs finally seek to initiate a sustainable collaborative practice among its participants encouraging ongoing exchange in an artistic research community of individuals.

Limited number of participants. Submissions deadline is 23th of March.

Workshop is free of charge thanks to the support of the Goethe-Institut Bratislava.

rimake flyer

We are happy to be hosted by Ri-Make, that is a sort of squat in a dismissed bank, for few installations and a free vvvv workshop!

The workshop will be on saturday 17th March 2018, in the afternoon. In the last Patcher Kucha I organized I knew many people from Brera Accademy in Milan and noticed and increased interest in vvvv.

Thanks also to fusomario who is spreading the vvvvord really hard, there will be few vvvv installations hosted.

My installation is related to mathematics, of course, and let user interact with music generated by prime numbers and tells the user their history while a bitcoin data graph in real time is showed... in some way they are related.

On the other hand fusomario will present two installations (of course using vvvv, otherwise italian mafia gang is disappointed): one is hard to believe at first, there is some vegetable connected with an arduino to get its feelings into an IObox. I saw with my eyes and it is true: the vegetable responds to stimuli (light, sounds and caresses) , connects with people, and manifests its feelings.

I have heard other people from Brera will show other installations using vvvv.

Come to vvvvisit us!
