In April 2012 myself and Elliot Woods were approached to create an application to project onto a car on a turntable, the brief expanded as the project went on, until by the end, it was to be a different car (of the same model) for every show, they wanted to be able to do multiple shows per day and the alignment was to be done by a member of the staff at the Landrover experience.
A challenging brief.
The building was finally opened in December 2012, the car takes approximately 10-15 minutes to lineup using 3 sliders and a rotatary control on an iPad, with a couple of buttons to spin the turntable around so you can check the setup.
It using 7 projection design projectors all running at 1920x1200, 3 for the back wall, 2 for the car and 2 for the floor, we also had to minimise any visible shadows, content was rendered at 4k and is all run off 1 pc.

Projection Mapping - vvvv - kinect - dance

Sometimes, technology has some limits. Dance also has some limitations but at the same time it gives human freedom. Art never ends and constantly gives us joy, love, sadness, curiosity, admiration and all the emotions of the world.
The dancer is asked to give his own performance in a very small space with the restrictions of the technology, but it also gives him the opportunity to express and create. He will achieve this through art and graphics that will appear due to the technology. Based on his body movements he creates his own compositions.
This project was made during an assignment at Cyprus University of Technology.

This is our video of our first ever try in vvvv. It was a weekend workshop – Mediatechnology – at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd.
The first task was the bridge correction between two iMacs. It had to be done over the network. We decided to use vvvv and used a UDP Client and Server model to synchronize the displaying of the image. It was very easy to use three instead of two iMacs.
After that we added a kinect. With the skeleton-data, which we got out of the kinect node, we mapped the movements of the head and the hands to the movement of the image. The gestures were made to move completely around in that 360° picture.
Greetings!

Hi all !
For christmas, the visual agency of Paris and I are releasing a brand new project ...
Light installation of 24 LED responding to the music in real time using vvvv (for audio-analysis + OSC control) and Processing (generated animations + Syphon to Modul8).
The project was designed for the 2nd edition of Yellow Lounge party in Paris. Yellow Lounge was born in Berlin with the aim to bring classical music in night clubs and to create AV performances with DJs and VJs. A unique concept for a special night

Two exhibits for Diehl Aerosystems showing their portfolio and taking a closer look at their avionics products. It was pretty fun creating a realtime rendered airplane surrounded by atmospheric lighting.
All Animations are realtime too including things like slats and flaps which help landing a plane.
Exhibit Specs Portfolio: 5760x1080 running at true 60fps, all DVI Heads in perfect sync. Thanks to Geforce Titan and Nvidia Surround Mode.

"Zwei Delirien / Bewusstsein & Leidenschaft" - THE SHOW
Fashion, Motion Controlled Visuals, Performance & Dance, Music - telling an ongoing story in 13 chapters.
We developed an interactive stage design consisting of a background projection that responds to motion in 13 different settings. We tracked the dancers using various Kinect based techniques.

At night, the artificially lit membrane shining in darkness, reminded us of a living organism, a structure that breathes. By activating the "wave pool", the light reflections on water added the dynamic lighting effects that we wanted. Similarly, we used the existing sound of the water being pumped away from the sides of the pools (pink noise) as a relaxing sonic backdrop and natural base, and we then added on top the intriguing sounds of whales, so that the people in the pools could imagine to be swimming with the gentle giants of the deep.
