we've been invited to join this years Mapping Festival in Geneva where we'll be doing a full day projectionmapping masterclass. as i understood access to that will be free for everyone. we'll demo different techniques all day long and hope to get anyone who is interested in mapping with vvvv involved.
i see also see Paul Prudence who usually comes with some vvvv in his bag if i'm not mistaken..

Every year in late September an abandoned industrial salt refinery on an island in Hallein, Austria opens up to around 300 Smiths and their ideas. We physically gather in order to get inspired, network, create, present and share. Schmiede provides a basic cooperative prototyping environment and an infrastructure full of impulses and passionate people.

i'm happy to announce the following workshop that i'll be hosting at San Francisco's Gray Area. it will be 9 hours streched over 3 days and the idea is to give an easy introduction to vvvv alongside an introduction to projection mapping techniques. so if you've been interested in either or even both, this workshop is for you:
After a quick general introduction to the wide range of use cases vvvv covers, we'll explore different features of vvvv that help with the creation of custom tools for interactive content creation and mapping.
We'll cover topics like video effects and compositing, homography based mapping, re-projection based mapping, projector calibration, working with point and curve-editors for animation and more. Bring your questions and ideas and we'll elaborate on those as our time permits.
Enrollment for this workshop is $270 ($30 per hour x 9)

i'm coming to the beautiful Gray Area in april to host a vvvv workshop on the 11th, 13th and 15th from 6pm to 9pm each day. i am not sure yet how to target the workshop thats why i am hoping to get feedback from some of you who might be interested to join. shall we rather do a beginners course or focus on a specific topic? projection mapping? dx11? you name it and i'll do my best to teach you all i know about it. or do we even get enough people interested a VL workshop?

Workshop “Hi-Book”: 16-17 April 2016 – H. 10.00-18.00

It is possible combine the “book” object with the most advanced interactive technologies? The workshop provides the means and knowledge to animate and make sensitive text and images through learning the Vvvv software and direct reading devices such as a webcam / Kinect.
CONTENTS
Augmented Reality: how to get amazing results for a “digital” pop-up
Fiducial Tracking: a bookmark to get more visual information
Color Tracking: change the atmosphere of the pages through the reading of the text
The workshop offers a chance to experience, play and learn about new technologies for the realization of an artifact of publishing imprint. It is an occasion to reflect on the “book” in an innovative way by combining different media.
PROGRAM
- Learning of the main features of Vvvv software, locating a book, page allocation to participants and realization of content with images, videos and sounds.
- Processing of the items collected starting from the themes of the book, proof of relationship between pages and digital images combined to build a storytelling.
- Grouping of projects, creation of interactive book and exhibition trials with public presentation.

Este módulo está compuesto por dos cursos: " VVVV " y " Arduino ", pudiendo cursarse en formato completo o por separado.
Nos acercaremos y trabajaremos con dos herramientas claves en los interactivos aplicados a la escena :
En el primer curso: trabajaremos con VVVV, un entorno de programación gráfica diseñado para la creación, generación y manipulación de vídeo y audio a tiempo real, la interacción con interfaces físicas o la gestión de sistemas de proyección multimedia a gran escala y su interacción simultánea con multitud de usuarios. La versatilidad de los entornos de programación gráfica como VVVV ofrecen al usuario la posibilidad de satisfacer sus necesidades concretas, desarrollando para cada caso, distintas herramientas que pueden ser usadas en multitud de aplicaciones en todo tipo de entornos audiovisuales, multimedia e interactivos
En el segundo curso: trabajamos con Arduino, que por su parte, ha conseguido ser la placa de prototipado más popular y ha demostrado ser útil en una infinidad de campos para el desarrollo de entornos interactivos.
