The project team developed new visuals for the 360° projection wall system of the Cocoon Club in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The clubs unique realtime-system is build on a network-setup with 21 projectors and 22 computers running the VJ System "Vertigo" which is based on vvvv, a graphical programming environment. (vvvv.org/)
During a three-month time period, the project team created 20 different patches (vvvv-applications) during several workshops and implemented them into the clubs system. Each patch has different parameters which can be controlled in realtime using Vertigo.
Finally the group performed on a friday night event as VJs at the Cocoon Club showing their results.

"Animales de los espejos"
6-channels electroacoustic music with live video
2011

Second piece from a larger project (work in progress) about animals described in the "Book of imaginary beings" by Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges.
"Animales de los espejos" ("Animals of the mirror") refers to an ancient Chinese legend: the images reflected in mirrors are mere copies of our world. But what if, one day, those images will start to imperceptiby differ from the “real” ones, acquiring more an more independence and finally breaking in our reality?

This is a stereo version of the original 6-channel electroacoustic piece.

Built in vvvv ( www.vvvv.org ).

Pen-based Digital Explainer Tool for Real Estate Marketing

MESO Digital Interiors developed a digital explainer tool for the marketing of the Frankfurt Airport Center THE SQUAIRE.

The presenter exhibit was developed for the presentation of the building at Germanys most important real estate exhibition Expo Real in Munich and for the later use in the marketing suite of the building. It allows seamless zooming and panning of the building, acessing a database for room allocation and tenancy, showing possible floor plans and furniture layouts and including various presentations.

The MESO Team: Max Wolf, Sebastian Oschatz, Matthias Wollin, Jens Anschütz, Alexander Graf, Olga Grischtschenko, Philipp Steinweber

Remember, Jump & Run //
Himmel & Hölle is a realtime realworld Jump & Run experience in space.
You need good memory, balance & physical fitness to master the 9 levels and make your way to heaven.
At the beginning of each level the fields you must jump on start to rotate in random combinations
(i.e. 1,3,6,7,8,7,8).
You must jump the correct combination into heaven and then back to start. The difficulty increases with every level while you make your way from a friendly blue to a fearful red environment. Jumping on a forbidden field results in destroying the gamefield for the entire level. If you miss a field and set your foot on the floor the Marelle collpases. You must jump on one foot only.

Rich realtime 3d graphics with physical behaviours, augmented chalk drawings, black light, 3-d sounddesign, super fast tracking with Radar Touch by Lang AG, a 7m x 3,50m wide gamefield....

Designed & programmed @ DeinLieblingsgestalter Studio Frankfurt am Main by Jannis Kilian Kreft, Sounddesign Simon Sanchez & Jannis Kilian Kreft, Patched in vvvv, Tracking device used: Radar Touch by Lang AG, Shot @ Nuit Blanche 4 Metz. • Realtime Motion Design, Programming and Mapping*

Originally erected in 1990 in a prime location on Frankfurts Hauptwache, the Zeilgalerie used to be the “grande dame” of the shopping malls in Frankfurt. In its first life, the much acclaimed, very post modern punched-steel curtain structure held what was the first media facade in Frankfurt, and most probably in all of Europe, designed by media artist Christian Möller. But after a spectacular start it went into slow decay for a decade and half.

For the revitalisation following the acquisition of the object by investor group IFM, 3Deluxe Architects developed a bold, new, jet black exterior speckled with 60.000 white LEDs.

MESOs task was to develop the media programme for this facade – built entirely on generative visuals – and an intelligent playout scheduler. The rather complex layout of the LED fixtures called for a bespoke mapping system, which prepares all of the graphics for the Leurocom -built Installation with sub-pixel precision.

Created entirely with our toolkit of choice, VVVV, there is a collection of several dozen generative scenes playing hide-and-seek on the original contours of the building. The briefing by 3Deluxe’s Dieter Brell was clearly defined: Simplicity, Elegance, organic flow, calmness with a few surprises now and then.
As all of these scenes are highly parametric, with a good measure of randomness strewn in, no two performances are ever the same. The software keeps calculating new and evolved frames forever.

As if that weren’t enough for a month of development time, IFM also commissioned us to develop a digital signage system for an impressive little hi-definition video wall which 3Deluxe had planned for the entrance of the building. Teaming up with 2D Design Team saasfee* we developed a realtime motion design for this showcase of the mall’s boutiques and venues that goes far beyond your ordinary digital signage system: 4 46"-screens run by a single computer, in native resolution, at 60 frames per second, embed the visual content of the shops in an effects-laden virtual 3D world.
