A solo dance in which the biological functions of the performer’s body takes control over the interactive environment. In this instance, the dancer’s heartbeat, muscle activity and breathing are measured by sensors attached to the dancer’s body, with the visuals and sound generated according to her specific movements. It is with this unique process that the complex data can be created completely organically, thus creating a very intimate link between the dancer’s biological body and her immediate, networked environment that is produced in the background. Consequently, the idea of boundaries (that is, where her body ends and the environment begins) begins to blur in the performance. In this way, as a single experiencing entity, a new hybrid being emerges.
The piece is primarily concerned with the merging of the biological and technological, resulting in the loss of a clear distinction between the two. It attempts to develop new understandings of the human identity in the light of the current changes and possibilities of the technologically mediated transformation. It redefines the human form as it is framed by its clearly defined corporeal body (an entirely organic form) and mediates the human essence between the material and the metaphorical. It looks at the apex at which “living” may become something other than biological.
Through the speculation on the intervention between biology and the modifying corporeality, a bio-techno enhancement of the human being is transferred onto non-biological platforms, which raises multiple issues revolving around the nature and identity of one’s self (essence, consciousness, intelligence, life, embodiment, identity and the body).

Light Garden is a permanent interactive landscape of light, sound and experience located at the Plaza Norte shopping mall in Lima, Peru.
The installation is a playful combination of suspended flowers, projected floor petals and surreal sounds. Colourful shapes bounce off the glossy floor creating a kaleidoscopic landscape and transports us into a magical world.
Light Garden is located in a circulation space of a retail mall, transforming it into a public place with a unique experience. The Flower motif design originated from the Plaza Norte retail mall logo, thus the client’s message is sensitively interwoven into the playful experience.
The installation has of thirty LED flower sculptures suspended at four meters. These flowers consist of five petal shaped light-boxes that provide animated shades of pastel light. Inside the flower’s core are five bespoke LED gobo projectors that shine white petals onto the floor below, they are individually controlled and act as interactive triggers. People can step on the petals and cause an instant reaction of sound and light. The complex interactive technology melts away, producing a real-world cinematic experience that is influenced by people moving through the space.
Interactive games are intertwined with the lighting and acoustic shows, which encourage playful engagement and a social experience. For children this is a natural environment, they intuitively explore this mysterious landscape, which also brings a sense of playfulness to adults; who are inspired to join in.

From a technical point of view, we have 30 cameras one in each flower feeding into 2 16 way multiplexors which is processed by a GPU version of trautner and provides hit areas for all of the petals.
It was an amazing thing to see a shopping mall turn into a magical space bathed in light and sound, and the first child to start lying on the floor and doing angels.

FormaX A/V performance@ Kikk Festival and Beautés Soniques FestivalLive Capture_Grand Manège,Namur.
FormaX is an A/V performance by Rawakari & Vision Nocturne. It also exists as an installation named Cubix.
FormaX is an audio reactive cubiq structure exploring visual and sonic spaces. This performance is part of a common audiovisual research between electronic music artist Rawakari (elf cut, thin consolation) & Vision Nocturne. The electronic sounds of Rawakari generates abstracts and hypnotic visuals creations onto the structure. Thanks to a smart interplay between optical and graphical elements the auidience gets lost in a minimal electronic landscape with complex and dreamy sounds.
This performance is organized in collaboration with Beautés Soniques.

We (schnellebuntebilder) and kling klang klong developed an interactive framework to create synaesthetic experiences of sounds and visuals generated from body movement.
In our first collaborative work „MOMENTUM“ the user and his surroundings transforms into a fluid creature in an ever-transforming system of particles. A virtual reality, in which movement becomes sound and music and matter seems to dissolve.

10VE: Sequence for two

“10VE” is a contemporary audio-visual participatory composition for two actuators and an audience. We built a special Aparatus that tracks our bio-signals and drives the musical composition as well as a motion detection system tracking the audience's presence. By sonifying the emotional relation between us - as performers - and between us - as one group with the audience, we create a musical representation of the psycho-physical processes occurring in all of us during the performance.

A generative and visual narrative about words and memories.
In several sequences, words are picked up from a list of sentences symbolizing memories. They are gathered according to generative algorithms. The system tries to evoke the meandering behavior of memories. Most of the motion graphics used would work in real time.
Made with VVVV (multipurpose toolkit) and Adobe After Effects.

Basically, I saw https://vimeo.com/23539090 (and its iterations) and wanted to experiment with it myself. Here, the colours represent notes and I threw in some variation in how and how often those notes are triggered. VVVV & Reason. File under exercise.
